Description
This is a jade seal that has a jade carving of 2 pixiu creatures. A pixiu, 貔貅, is a mythical creature in Chinese lore and in Feng Shui, it is typically associated with the ability to collect and attract wealth whilst repelling negative energies.
The intricate jade carvings are carved out of a single block of jadeite and sits on top of a rectangular jadeite seal. Ink seals were derived from China many centuries ago where imperial seals were used by emperors. Since then, ink seals have been used to chop or stamp names in lieu of signatures in personal documents as marks of authenticity.
This jade seal has been carefully carved from a translucent and finely grained jadeite material. Details of the carvings are distinct and delicate. Usually, in jade carvings, fine intricate carvings are a reflection of the jadeite material. The jadeite material is of a cool translucent material with patches of bluish green patterns. Due to the fine crystals in the jadeite material, this jade seal has been able to take a very high polish. The bottom of the seal has not been carved or marked with any characters.
The jadeite seal is guaranteed Type A with no chemical enhancements. Photos of the jadeite ornament are taken in natural lighting except for the last 2 photos which are taken in indoor 4000K lighting conditions. This helps to showcase how the jadeite piece will look like in a home or office setting.
