This is a jadeite pendant carved in a classic barrel shape commonly known as the 路路通 carving or Lu Lu Tong. Symbolically, this carving, with its hollow barrel shape, signifies a clear and unblocked path devoid of obstacles. The Chinese words 路路通 also directly translate to unobstructed paths, at every turn.
This carved jadeite "barrel" is a modern blend of black and white with a refreshing splash of green. The entire jadeite carving has good translucency which lends an icy touch to the natural jadeite pendant. This also allows the black and green hues to have a 3-dimensional look, appearing as swirls of colour within the icy, colourless areas of the jadeite.
This jadeite carving deviates slightly from the traditional "barrel" shape with its flush sides. The cylindrical shape gives the jadeite "barrel" a more contemporary and modern appearance.
