Description
This is a Type A jadeite pendant sets in an abstract butterfly design. The centrepiece in this pendant is a glassy jadeite in a long angular shape that acts as the forewing of a butterfly viewed from its side profile. The Type A jadeite is almost transparent with snowlike specks scattered within the translucent jadeite. These fluffy specks of white are characteristic to natural jadeite with high levels of translucency and add an aesthetic touch to the otherwise near transparent jadeite material.
This butterfly pendant is set in 18K rose and white gold with a matte finish. The wings of the butterfly are in rose gold while its body is set in white gold. Natural diamonds decorate both the wings as well as the body of the butterfly. A single jadeite cabochon with a glowing green hue is set atop the butterfly and acts as the pendant hook.
