Description
This classic jade pendant is carved in the shape of a "Safety Coin" or 平安扣 in Chinese. This jadeite "Safety Coin" is carved from Type A jadeite that has swirls of green brightly colouring the surface of the jadeite carving. This green against white colour combination adds to the classic appearance of this jadeite pendant.
The shape of the jadeite carving is similar to the traditional coins used with a circular shape and a hole in the middle. These jade carvings crafted as safety coin are usually worn to protect the wearer against ill fortunes. Fine jadeite safety coins are also a symbol of wealth and nobility and are thus worn, kept and passed down families from generation to generation as family heirlooms.
The design of this jadeite pendant hook is an elegant pendant setting in 18K white gold. A single channel of sparkly diamonds that starts from the centre of the jadeite "Safety Coin" acts as the pendant hook, completing the jadeite pendant with a simple yet truly elegant design. The gold necklace featured in the photographs is not included in this product.
