This jadeite "goldfish" pendant is carved from colourless Type A jadeite with high translucency. Along with its pristine clarity, this jadeite carving gives off an icy and pristine vibe. The intricate carving makes perfect use of the icy jadeite material, creating smooth contours that highlight the glowing lustre of the natural jadeite.
Goldfish carvings are auspicious symbols which represent an abundance of wealth and knowledge. The Chinese word for goldfish reads similarly to "gold and jade" in the Chinese idiom 金玉满堂 which directly translates to gold and jade in abundance, so much so that they fill up an entire hall.
