Hand carved from an icy green Type A jadeite, this intricate pendant depicts the Buddhist deity Guan Yin. Guan Yin or 观音 is a symbol for compassion and carvings of Guan Yin are often worn as a talisman against fear, pain or sufferings.
A highly translucent jadeite with an icy green colour is used in this delicate Guan Yin carving. Intricacy of the jadeite carving can be observed with the clarity in the carving from the facial details to the flowing robes at the bottom of the jadeite pendant. The fine crystal aggregate structure of the jadeite material results in fine polished finish which creates an incredibly glossy glow on this fine jadeite Guan Yin pendant.
