This jadeite pendant features a classic jade carving with a more contemporary colour hue. The Type A jadeite is smoothly carved in the shape of a safety coin with its bluish green hue lending a soothly, subtle appearance to the jadeite pendant. High polish and good translucency add to the beauty of this classic jade pendant which is elegantly set in 18K white gold and lightly decorated with natural diamonds.
Safety coins or 平安扣 carvings are derived from Chinese traditions. These jade carvings crafted as safety coin are usually worn to protect the wearer against ill fortunes. Fine jadeite safety coins are also a symbol of wealth and nobility and are thus worn, kept and passed down families from generation to generation as family heirlooms.
