This is a pair of highly translucent jadeite earrings. The pair of jadeite are intricately carved as plum blossoms. Plum blossoms flower at the end of winter and signify the beginning of spring. Being able to bloom right after winter, these flowers are especially hardy and it is this trait that associates these beautiful flowers with a hardy perseverance. Blooming right at the end of winter, these blossoms are considered the first flowers of spring and represent the beauty of renewal in nature.
Highly translucent bluish green jadeite is used in this pair of earrings. The translucent gloss of the Type A jadeite is complemented by a thoughtfully designed gold setting in the form of a tree branch on each side of the earrings. Plum blossoms flower directly on the main branches and the 18K matte gold is crafted elegantly to reflect this. A single pearl on each side of the earrings is used to illustrate the last snow flakes at the end of winter.
