The centrepiece of this jade ring is a Type A jadeite cabochon which is almost transparent in its translucency. In fine colourless jadeite, the most translucent pieces are termed as "glassy variety" jadeite. This distinction has another criteria. Other than high translucency, the jadeite cabochon would need to have a strong enough shimmer which can be noticed within the jadeite material. This shimmer is usually marketed as a fluorescence effect which adds a glow to the jade cabochon.
In this particular glassy jade ring, the translucency is exceptional and the shimmer effect within the cabochon is strong which allows the jade ring to give off a strong radiance in any lighting. The shimmer effect is best viewed from the video uploaded since the allure of the shimmer lies in how the light appears to shift about within the cabochon when it is shifted about. The jadeite cabochon has a highly fine crystal aggregate structure and even up close, distinction crystals cannot be observed in the jadeite material. Overall, this glassy jade ring is highly polished and has a beautiful dewy glow.
