This is a beautiful jadeite pendant with the highest quality of jadeite. Despite having a good thickness, the jadeite is incredibly glassy and has very fine crystal aggregates making the jadeite material very translucent and highly glossy. There is a very light tinge of green in the colourless material.
This jadeite pendant is in the carving of a female deity in the Buddhist religion, the Green Tara (绿度母). The Green Tara is believed to embody wisdom and dispel negative karma while helping to overcome difficult obstacles. The jadeite carving in this jadeite pendant is extremely intricate and beautiful.
