This jadeite pendant is crafted with a glassy jadeite carved in the shape of a pea pod or 四季豆. The natural jadeite is highly translucent and completely colourless.
Carved as a pea pod, the 3 dome shaped pods represent the achievement of 3 major goals in one's life. The auspicious meaning of pea pod jade carvings is also derived from the direct translation of pea pods in Chinese. The Chinese words sound similar to four seasons and in a way, pea pod carvings symbolise health and prosperity all year long, throughout the 4 seasons every year.
This jadeite pendant is set in 18K white gold with a mix of natural sapphires and tsavorites. The pendant bail is designed as a bird, brightly encrusted in the natural gemstones. The bird sits upon a sparkly branch crafted with yellow sapphires which frames the jadeite pea pod. The minty green leaves of the branch are coloured by tsavorites.
