Another auspicious symbolism of pea pod jade carvings derives from the direct translation of pea pods in Chinese. The Chinese words sound similar to four seasons and in a way, pea pod carvings symbolise health and prosperity all year long, throughout the 4 seasons every year.
This jadeite pea pod is carved from Type A jadeite that is completely colourless and almost transparent in its clarity. The entire jadeite carving is clean and pure without any visible inclusions. Carved with well proportioned domes, the translucency and fine crystal aggregates of the jadeite material give the jadeite pea pod a shimmery glow that is often seen in exquisite glassy jadeite cabochons.
This jadeite ring is set in 18K white gold with natural round and a marquise shaped diamonds crafted to form a side view of a butterfly on the jadeite pea pod. The gold and diamond setting adds tiny sparkles of light, beautifully complementing the soft glow of the glassy jadeite pea pod.
