Barrel shaped carvings in jadeite are typically known as Lu Lu Tong carvings or 路路通 in Chinese. The hollow barrel shape symbolises a clear path in any pursuit, without any blockages. Directly translated, the words 路路通 mean clear paths, at every turn.
This featured Type A jade barrel has a smooth and flat exterior. The sides of the jadeite are framed in 18K yellow gold as a decoration while serving to protect the jadeite material from any accidental bumps. The jadeite material carries a beautiful pattern with vivid to dark green hues along with lighter parts with a translucent green material. The crystal aggregate structure in this jadeite barrel is fine and dense. The high polish, as a result, is very smooth to touch and comfortable to wear as a pendant.
