The ideal hue of green in jadeite is represented in this jadeite cabochon ring. Type A and untreated in any way, this jadeite cabochon is as beautiful as it is rare. Most dyed jadeite would strive to achieve this colour.
In the trade, there are terms like apple green or imperial green jadeite and these all refer to a bright green hue without dark tones. This particular cabochon jadeite has not only the desired colour, but is also icy in translucency and is polished to a very beautiful sheen. Lustre and translucency allude to the fineness of crystal aggregates within the jadeite material.
Photographs are all taken in natural lighting and are not enhanced in any way.
