This delicately pair of jadeite earrings is carved from a blue jadeite material with a hint of green. The blue colour of the jadeite has a beautiful glow with a highly polished surface, adding a smooth and glossy sheen to the jadeite's surface. In bluish jadeite, high translucency and fine crystal structure of the jadeite material gives the jadeite jewellery a watery appearance.
Carved out of a single jadeite rough, this type of jadeite carving is particularly interesting because both jadeite hoops are separated and able to swing freely yet are permanently interlocked with each other. Crafting a pair of jadeite double hoops requires both intricate skill and a sizeable fine jadeite rough. The dangling design of the jade earrings allows the double hoops of the jadeite earrings to swing freely, catching the light beautifully whilst worn which greatly emphasizes the watery lustre of the blue jadeite.
A pair of 18K rose gold hoops allows the jadeite double hoops to be worn as dangling earrings. Because of the hoop design, the gold earring hoops can be removed completely from the jadeite pieces. This allows the jadeite double hoops to be worn separately in other suitable jewellery sets such as a pendant on a gold necklace. This is shown in photo 5. This dangling earring design beautifully enhances the watery glow of the jadeite while adding versatility to the jadeite jewellery.
The main photos are taken in natural lighting with 2 additional photos taken with indoor lighting to showcase the jadeite in different types of lighting.
