The colour in this Type A jadeite cabochon is a soothing blend of blue and green hues that shifts in colour depending on the lighting conditions. Being highly translucent, the jadeite cabochon displays an icy appearance and light passes through the jadeite material easily.
This translucency gives rise to a glowing lustre in the cabochon and is also the reason for its gradual shift in colours. In natural daylight, the icy jadeite cabochon has a teal coloured appearance with a beautiful shimmery glow, closely resembling the colours of tranquil and clear ocean waters. In dimmer indoor lighting, it takes on a more steely, cool hue of blue and its light touch of green is less obvious.
