The base colour of the jadeite beads is a very light tint of green and appears almost completely white in contrast with the bluish green patches of the jadeite. Because of the translucency and fine crystal structure of the jadeite, the bluish green patches or flowers (飘蓝花) within the jadeite appear to be floating, suspended in the icy jadeite beads.
