This jade ring features a carved jadeite piece in the liking of a goldfish. Goldfish carvings are auspicious symbols which represent an abundance of wealth and knowledge. The Chinese word for goldfish reads similarly to "gold and jade" in the Chinese idiom 金玉满堂 which directly translates to gold and jade in abundance, so much so that they fill up an entire hall.
The body of this jadeite carving is a highly translucent material. This high translucency lends an icy appearance to the goldfish carving. The jadeite has a light tinge of green that complements its icy appearance. An interesting feature of this jadeite carving is its placement of streaks of bluish green at the tail portion of the goldfish carving which adds a beautiful touch of colour to the icy jadeite goldfish.
