This pair of dangling jadeite earrings features 2 matching jade discs elegantly set with 18K white gold and an assortment of gemstones. The jade discs are perfectly round and have a small hole centred on both discs. Both discs are carved from a single jadeite rough which allows for a perfectly matched icy green colour with graduated streaks of vibrant green decorating the bottom of both discs.
This jade disc carving is popularly known as safety coin carvings or 平安扣 in Chinese. In Feng Shui beliefs, these jade carvings are usually worn to protect the wearer against ill fortunes.
The jadeite safety coin carvings are set as dangling earrings to highlight the translucency and fine texture of the jadeite material. In this dangling design, light is able to pass through the icy jadeite material, showcasing the vibrant green patterns within the icy jadeite beautifully. The dangling earrings are worn with earring studs that are intricately designed as a pair of butterflies encrusted in natural pink sapphires, mint coloured tsavorites and diamonds.
The main photos are taken in natural lighting and there are 2 additional photos taken with indoor lighting to showcase the jadeite in different types of lighting. This helps to provide a good view of how the jade earrings look like indoors to provide as accurate a representation as possible of this jadeite jewellery.
