This pair of stud earrings is crafted with Type A jadeite carved as circular discs with a small hole in the center. This classic jadeite carving is popularly known as safety coin carvings, a direct translation from the Chinese term 平安扣.
In this pair of carved jadeite earrings, the surface of the jadeite is well rounded with a proportionate dome shape. This creates a "doughnut-shaped" side profile which helps the earrings to glisten beautifully in the light. The jadeite carvings showcase an icy green hue with streaks of pure green adding subtle shifts in colour. Given its high translucency, these streaks of colour also add a 3-dimensional look to the icy jadeite carving.
With an asymmetric floral design, the jadeite "safety coins" are set with 18K gold flowers that are covered in sparkly natural diamonds. The flower stamens are crafted in 18K yellow gold that adds a warm contrast of colour to the white gold setting.
