In traditional Chinese culture, bamboo carvings symbolise "a steady rise to eminence", especially in career aspects or 节节高 in Chinese. As such, bamboo carvings are very auspicious and are often seen in jade jewellery carvings.
This jadeite pendant is very simply carved in the shape of a bamboo, with a delicately carved node clearly visible. An intricate detail, a carving of a small leaf, is added at the bottom of the pendant, providing a finishing touch to the auspicious carving.
The simple carving, whilst distinct in its shape, points to the quality of the jadeite material. The jadeite used in this pendant is highly translucent and has an icy gleam due to this quality combined with its fine crystal composition. A soft glow emanates from within the jadeite pendant as it shifts about in the light. The base colour of this jadeite pendant is almost colourless and with a very light hue of green.
This jade pendant is elegantly set with classic natural diamonds and 18K white gold. The simple design is meant to be unisex. The jadeite is guaranteed Type A and has not been enhanced.
