This is a pair of dangling earrings crafted with natural, Type A jadeite in classic "Safety Coin" carvings. The statement design incorporates these classic jadeite shapes with an abstract twist.
Sitting atop the jadeite coins is a pair of rose gold butterflies, one on each side of the dangling jadeite earrings. The gold butterflies appear suspended in flight, holding on to glowing jadeite halos.
"Safety Coin" carvings or 平安扣 in Chinese are sometimes known as jadeite "doughnuts" because of their halo-like shapes with a round hollow centre. Carved out of highly translucent jadeite, the jadeite carvings are especially beautiful because of their translucency and light green hue. This combination imparts a beautiful glow in the jadeite that shimmers in the light. Streaks of bluish green or 飘花 add a touch of flair to the almost colourless jadeite.
