This is a Type A icy jadeite pendant set with 18K white gold and natural diamonds. For colourless jadeite, the classification of icy jadeite is an indication of the high translucency of the jadeite material such that the jadeite resembles a block of ice. Similar to the frosted appearance of ice, icy jadeite often displays mist-like inclusions within the jadeite material. These are common in all but the cleanest jadeite materials. However, only in highly translucent jadeite can these wispy inclusions be visible.
This particular icy jadeite pendant has angular cuts across the surface of the pendant giving the icy pendant a rather modern feel with its facetted surface. The translucency of the jadeite material can be seen from all angles due to the thickness of the jadeite. A warm shimmery glow can be seen within the jadeite pendant in all types of lighting environments.
