This jadeite bracelet consists of 2 jadeite carvings. One is a jadeite carving shaped like a doughnut with a hollow middle. The portion that was removed to create the jadeite doughnut was carefully carved and polished into a tiny jadeite cylinder that makes up the second jadeite carving in this bracelet.
This carving design is referred to as a 母子扣. This term directly translates to "mother and child safety coin" because of how the smaller jadeite carving is derived directly from the larger jadeite doughnut. Both jadeite carvings are beautifully carved and polished.
This pair of jadeite carvings is crafted from a highly translucent jadeite material. The translucency creates a watery appearance in the jadeite. This lustrous effect is even more pronounced with its light tint of green with subtly streaks of colours.
Crafted in 18K rose gold, this can be worn as a bracelet or an anklet. The beautiful meaning of the 母子扣 makes this a perfect gift to a child. With an adjustable length, this can be worn on a child's ankle and increases in length can be made to accommodate a growing child's ankle size. Older children or adults can wear this as a bracelet. 3 tiny golden bells are added on the bracelet / anklet along with the Chinese term 喜樂. Xi Le (喜樂) literally means joy and happiness.
