This is a pair of highly translucent jadeite balls dangling earrings. The jade balls have been slightly drilled into to allow for the gold setting. The degree of translucency of the jade earrings is evident from the high visibility of the white gold needles inside them.
The jade beads used in this pair of dangling earrings are completely round and matching. Both beads or balls measure around 8mm in diameter and wear very elegantly and securely due to the stud backings used. The jade balls dangle delicately from the 18K gold settings and resemble frosted balls of ice due to the high translucency of the jadeite material and the white cotton-like particles seen within the jadeite balls. The frosted look is made even more intriguing by the slight shimmer that can be seen within the jade beads when light is reflected off the jade material.
This pair of earrings makes a perfect set with the pendant, NJP016. A photo of the pendant with the earrings has been included for reference and comparisons. All 3 beads or balls have matching colour hues and make an exquisite set of jade jewellery. As usual, this pair of jade earrings is made from Type A jadeite and no enhancements have been made to the jadeite material.
The main photos are taken in natural lighting and there are 2 additional photos taken with indoor lighting to showcase the jadeite in different types of lighting. For reference, the indoor lighting has a colour temperature of 4000K which is commonly used in indoor lighting. This helps to provide a good view of how the jade jewellery looks like with different lights to provide as accurate a representation as possible of our jade pieces.
No cracks or dark inclusions. The cotton-like white inclusions give the jade balls an elegant frosted look.
Jadeite balls measure 8.7mm in diameter and are completely round. With the 18K gold and diamonds setting, the dangling earrings have a length of about 21mm.
