This is a jadeite pendant carved in the shape of a vase. The jadeite carving is delicately carved out from a single jadeite rough into 2 separate but interlocked pieces. This vase carving is 3 dimensionally carved which allows details of the vase to be visible on both sides of the carving. The highly translucent jade pendant has a light green hue.
Vase carvings crafted with precious materials are also referred to as 宝瓶 which translates directly to "precious vase". The Chinese term reads similarly to 保平 which means "ensuring peace". As a symbol, this vase jadeite carving is worn for protection and peace.
