Fine jadeite is often associated with a watery lustre due to high translucency, good clarity and a saturated colour. The variance usually only lies in the last characteristic, colour. In this particular pair of fine Type A jadeite cabochon earrings, the colour hue displayed is an intense and pure orange. High translucency combined with a saturated colour, gives jade cabochons a mesmerising look since light is able to penetrate the jadeite material allowing the colour to radiate outwards. Due to the layered crystal structure of jadeite, jade cabochons are able to display an aqueous lustre when found with sufficient colour saturation and translucency.
This pair of orange hued jade earrings has a matching jade cabochon ring which is featured in the 6th photo. Finding matching colour hues in jadeite is an extremely difficult task due to the wide range of colours possible in jadeite. The matching colour in this pair of earrings and ring makes this a rare and exquisite set.
The Type A jade earrings are set in an elegant design with 18K white gold paired with natural marquise and round diamonds.
The main photos are taken in natural lighting and there are 2 additional photos taken with indoor lighting to showcase the jadeite in different types of lighting. This helps to provide a good view of how the jade jewellery looks like under different lighting conditions to provide as accurate a representation as possible of our jade pieces.
As a note, a NGI laboratory report for the pair of earrings will be included with this purchase.
