On each side of this pair of stud earrings is a delicate jadeite carving in the shape of Ru Yi (如意). The intricate carvings are set with 18K yellow gold with a vintage filigree design framing each jadeite Ru Yi.
Carved from colourless jadeite with high translucency, the jadeite Ru Yi carvings are icy in appearance with a glowing lustre. A natural Type A vivid green teardrop shaped jadeite dangles off each side of the jadeite earrings, beautifully adding a contrast in colour to the icy white jadeite Ru Yi carvings.
The abstract shapes of Ru Yi carvings are elegant and make unique designs for jewellery with a symbolic meaning. The Chinese words of 如意 literally translate to "as desired" and symbolise the auspicious meaning of being able to achieve one's wishes.
