Lavender Jade Earrings - Safety Coin (NJE201)

Lavender Jade Earrings - Safety Coin (NJE201)

Description

This is a pair of dangling jadeite earrings with a detachable design. The jadeite carvings are round in shape with a hollow centre. This carving is popularly referred to the "Safety Coin" carving or 平安扣 in Chinese. It is also sometimes known as a jadeite "doughnut". This carving is used in Feng Shui practices as a ward against ill fortunes and worn for protection.

The 2 jadeite carvings in this pair of earrings are carved from the same jadeite rough and display a similar mix of colours. Streaks of bluish green on both jadeite carvings blends beautifully with the bluish lavender colour.

The jadeite earrings are crafted with 18K white gold with earring studs that can be detached from the dangling jadeite "Safety Coins". The earring studs are designed as a pair of butterflies facing each other. Each butterfly carries a blue sapphire that dangles freely. The butterfly earring studs can be worn individually without the jadeite dangles and can also be worn with compatible earring dangles.

Quality and saturation of lavender hues are particularly difficult to discern in photographs. Different angles and varying lighting conditions greatly affect the colours displayed. Product photographs of these jadeite earrings were taken with great care to showcase their colours as accurate as possible. The lavender hue in this jadeite pair is a lavender with a tint of blue and does not carry any grey tints in natural daylight.

The main photos are taken in natural lighting and there are 2 additional photos taken with indoor lighting to showcase the jadeite in different types of lighting.
