This natural jadeite pendant is carved in a "barrel" shape with a cylindrical body that has a hole running through its center. This "barrel" shape is commonly referred to as the 路路通 carving or Lu Lu Tong in pinyin. Symbolically, this carving, with its hollow barrel shape, signifies a clear and unblocked path devoid of obstacles. The Chinese words 路路通 also directly translate to unobstructed paths, at every turn. The surface of the lavender jadeite pendant are also carved with motifs of Ru Yi (如意) "clouds". Ru Yi in Chinese literally means "as desired" and this adds an auspicious meaning of allowing its wearer to achieve one's wishes.
