This bold statement ring is crafted with a Type A omphacite jadeite centrepiece. This omphacite jadeite is carved with a smooth, slightly domed surface and bevelled sides. Displaying a completely jet black colour, the ring has a clean, sleek appearance paired with natural diamonds and 18K white gold.
Omphacite jadeite has a unique characteristic of being dark in colour whilst displaying beautiful green hues when directly shone through with light. Fine quality of omphacite jadeite can be discerned by the intensity of the black hue, pure black being most desired, and good translucency which allows the omphacite to display clear green hues with direct light shining through it. In photos 6 and 7, this alluring effect can be seen in this omphacite jadeite ring. The hue of green seen in areas of the omphacite jade illuminated by the light is a pure green with vivid saturation.
