This is a fine spessartite garnet ring with an intense and vivid orange hue which is rarely seen in natural, untreated gemstones. This spessartite gemstone has a proportionate cushion shape with well cut facets. The clean facets create incredibly beautiful flashes of orange that light up the entire gemstone.
Spessartites with pure orange hues are rare and are known as "Mandarin Garnets" because of their likeness to similarly hued mandarin oranges. Fine "Mandarin Garnets" are sometimes referred to as collectors' gemstones for their rarity. The centrepiece in this particular gemstone ring is classified as a Mandarin Garnet because of its pure and vivid orange colour.
