Description
This jadeite ring features a jadeite carving in the shape of a leaf. Lightly carved, this jadeite leaf is almost completely icy white but for a splash of vivid green at one corner. As with Type A jadeite, this patch of colour is literally like a splash of bright green ink spreading outwards in icy water, creating an aesthetic pattern in a most natural way.
In Chinese, leaves are called 叶子 which sounds similar to the Chinese word for career 事业. Because of this association, leaf carvings are often worn as talisman for career advancement or work related improvements.
In this jadeite ring, the leaf carving is subtle in its carving and wears beautifully with its vibrant splash of vivid green. The jadeite carving sits in the middle of a broad 18K gold ring that is lightly decorated with diamonds. The gold band is designed in an abstract form of twining vines in a plant, symbolising growth and development.
